Hi, I'm Brett Briggs — A Tintype Photographer in Salt Lake City
This is my Portfolio
The portraits I make are mostly wet plate collodion tintypes — an artisanal photograph on a black metal plate, hand-poured in the darkroom and developed in front of you. You watch the image appear, and the plate is yours to keep.
I've been photographing and making prints for over 20 years, 12 of them as a commercial and editorial photographer, along with years as an Art Director and Content Producer. I still take that work on when my work is the right style for the job. Most of my camera time goes to slower, more methodical portraits, made one plate at a time on a very large format camera, here in Salt Lake City, Utah.
